What to Expect on a Forest Walk

What to expect

Every Forest Therapy walk is a unique dialogue between people and the More Than Human World.

Although we may notice and appreciate plants and animals, it is not a nature walk where the focus is on identification or collection. Although we may walk on trails, it is not a hike where the goal is exercise or to arrive at a destination.

Rather, Forest Therapy walks are guided, relaxed, sensory experiences full of wander and wonder.

I had a wonderful experience today in a state park that I often visit. Today however was different… I was guided in being in my surroundings with all of my senses as well as introduced to the history of the area and peoples who enjoyed the area through history. It was a wonderful way to spend the morning.
